Welcome

I arrange hymns on the piano in my spare time. These songs are completely free and are here for you. The only thing I get out of doing this is the hope that other people will enjoy it. As I am LDS (aka mormon), a number of my arrangements are specific to my faith. However, I also have a number of arrangements of other traditional hymns that are common among most Christian denominations. If you like what you find here, please share this website with your friends. Also, please leave comments. It's the only way I know if you enjoy it or not.

The text and music of "I Stand All Amazed" was written in 1898 by Charles Gabriel (1856-1932). Gabriel grew up as a farm boy in Iowa, but eventually became the music director at Grace Methodist Episcopal Church in San Francisco California and later moved to Chicago. In his life, Gabriel was a prolific hymn writer. His hymn "I Stand All Amazed" is also known as "Oh it is Wonderful". The original hymn words and music in SATB format is available here. (1)

  9. I think you may want to place a twitter icon to your blog. Just bookmarked the site, but I must do this by hand. Simply my $.02 :)

  10. So I'm pretty clueless when it comes to twitter, I didn't really want to register for twitter, and I update the blog so infrequently that I decided against adding a twitter icon.

However, I hope I've compensated for that by adding a "follow by email" option that will send you an email when I post something new.

Thanks your 2 cents, and I hope you enjoy the music!

  16. Thank you so much for sharing these! I live in the middle of nowhere where it's difficult to find hymn arrangements (I even have trouble finding them online - and then you can't hear or play them before buying!) so I really appreciate it! Can't wait to play these!

  17. I am trying to search for an arragment to play for sacrament; when I stumbled upon your site. I have to thank you for sharing this great gift with us. I have played the piano since I was 7 and have only played classical music and kept it hidden from many people. I have not wanted to learn a hymn in fear that the church would find out and ask me to play; well the word got out and now they ask me to share my talent with them. I have never wanted to learn a hymn but now I think I will learn them for myself and my family; however try to keep it on a down low from the church as I'm a very shy person! Thank you again for the great music and allowing us to obtain the music and press forward with sharing it with more to come!

  24. I love this arrangement like many others. I think the difference is I'm a clarinetist. After looking at the music I couldn't resist the urge to make it a clarinet duet. I wanted to check with you first. The thing I love about this arrangment is how you kept the melody so simple and yet the syncopation makes it so unique. Thank you for sharing.

Cindy: Go for it. A clarinet duet sounds lovely.

Not sure if you're still actively checking this site, but just wanted to give you a shoutout and say thanks for doing this music. It sounds great, and I'm using a snippet of it in an EFY presentation this summer.

  30. These arrangements are so amazing! Thank you for sharing! I have to say, I love all the songs, but this one is my favorite. Thank you so much! Please continue to do more, too! Nearer My God to Thee would be a good one, I think. And there's a clue other ones that would be good. But anyways, thank you!

  32. Would it be alright with you if I put this as background music for a missionary video? The nonprofit video will be shown at a stake fireside.

  39. Thank you so much for this music. This hymn is my favorite and I have been looking everywhere for an arrangement that expressed how the words made me feel when I sang it. I told my husband the other day, "everything I find just doesn't do the words justice". I can't believe this is free. I would gladly pay for it, that being said, thank you for offering it to everyone freely. I'm sure it has blessed many people.
Can't wait to play it in sacrament meeting someday as my first one!

  42. I have another one of your arrangements and absolutely love playing it. I really would love to get this sheet music as well but the link to download it is not working. Are you able to fix it? Or is there another place it's posted? I'm very happy to buy the sheet music if that's what the change is

    1. Jena, thank you for letting me know the link wasn't working. I guess google pages finally stopped servicing it. I updated the link to a different place online I put my arrangements where you should be able to download it. And it's still totally free. Thanks for playing my arrangements!
